Have you wondered why college textbooks change so much?

Professors say they don't have a choice in the matter and if a newer, more expensive edition comes out, they have to use it because of relevancy.
"They try to add new content that is more relevant today than some of the information they may have in the past, especially problems," said Albany State University Instructional Technology Program Coordinator, Janis Carthon.
Carthon say many students who try to use an old edition will realize the problems don't match up once they receive a bad grade on their homework so she urges her students to buy the newest edition.
