Gunshot leads to pit bull seizure
Three pit bulls have been confiscated under suspicion that they may have been used for dog fighting.
Moultrie police investigators officers heard gun shots in the area of 4th Avenue and when they located where the noise originated, they conducted a search on the home.
Police not only found a stolen gun and drug paraphernalia inside the home but they found one pit bull that appeared to be malnourished with cuts on its face.
All three animals in the home were turned over to the Colquitt County Humane Society. Lt. Seth Walters with the Moultrie police says it would be up to the Humane Society to press charges for the dogs.
Melvin and Carolyn Dillard are charged with theft by receiving and possession of cocaine.
