Guns, drugs, and counterfeit money seized from home

On Wednesday morning, police arrived at a home on Gordon West Avenue in Albany to serve a warrant for the arrest of 60-years-old Bobby Ray Shorts.

After arriving and knocking, police realized no one inside would come to the door. Officers also noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the house.

That's when police noticed three people inside the home flee through the back door.

Police found two more suspects inside the home including Shorts and 22-year-old Demontavious David.

Officers also found 22 grams of marijuana, a half a gram of cocaine, 44 grams of what they believe to be spice, four firearms, counterfeit bills, and two dogs. Police the street value of the drugs is over $1,000.

Shorts and David have both been taken into custody.

Both are charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, two counts of possession of drug related items, possession of cocaine, possession with the intention to distribute, obstruction of an officer, and failure to appear.
