Guns are a hot stolen item this holiday season

Guns are becoming a frequent stolen item this holiday season.

Jason Sheffield, owner of Dawson Jewelry and Pawn, carries a large amount of guns in his store and knows the protocol. He says there are age limits depending on the gun that you want, you have to show a state- issued ID, and pass a background criminal check.

He adds when people can't or don't want to comply with these laws is when guns get stolen and bought off the streets.

Lastly Sheffield insists that owners keep their bill of sale for proof of purchase, and that keeping your gun from getting stolen can be as simple as remembering to lock your car house, or wherever you keep your gun.
