GSW holds summit on supporting caregivers

Georgia Southwestern State University is hosting the Rosalynn Carter Institute National Summit Friday.

Former Senator Elizabeth Dole spoke Friday morning about the critical need to support military caregivers. Dole said this nation needs to do a much better job at supporting those people.

Also during the summit attendees learned how to provide safe and effective care to returning service members and veterans. They also hear advice on how to care for those with disabilities, and Alzheimer's disease.

Caregivers also gained insight on how to better take care of themselves and learned about community programs in their areas.
