Albany State University students had the rare opportunity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, and on Thursday evening they presented what they believe our area needs to keep moving forward.
Though many agreed our society has made a lot of progress since 1963, they also believe there is still inequality that needs to be fixed.
"People just have to have a willing heart to do the right thing. Many times decisions are made by their popularity and we're not looking at things because they're the right thing to do, we're looking at what's going to get us votes," said Albany Civil Rights Institute Interim Executive Director W. Frank White.
Whether old or young, black or white, White says freedom is a people's message that everyone can understand.
