Dougherty County commissioners heard an update on how they're going green.

At the Monday morning meeting, they heard from Facilities Management Director Dwayne Greene who said changes made in the Government Center alone have saved the county $18,000 in the last year and over $11,000 in the last six months. Greene says it's a county-wide effort and there is still more to do.

Commissioner Gloria Gaines wants to look at converting all county vehicles to electric in hopes of realizing savings there as well-especially now that commissioners are looking extra closely at the budget to find any way to cut.
