Grant money renewed to keep roads safe
Albany Safe Communities recently announced they received a renewal grant from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
The coalition studies crash and accident data and then works with a variety of groups including law enforcement, government, educators, and more to prevent crashes in all sectors.
The overall goal of the group is to make Southwest Georgia roads safer for everyone to drive on by analyzing data, working with key groups to create educational and informational materials and dispersing them through the community.
According to the group since 2000, there have been more than 2,605 visible or serious injuries in Dougherty County.
