Grand jury indicts suspended Worth County Sheriff Jeff Hobby
A grand jury has indicted suspended Worth County Sheriff Jeff Hobby for multiple counts of eavesdropping and one count of violation of oath of office.
Hobby was originally arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in early March for over 60 charges, with more being added nearly two weeks later. 11 other charges also went before the grand jury Tuesday for a total of 90.
After the second batch of warrants were issued, one of the attorneys handling the case dropped out.
On February 26, the District Attorney's office was given information about a possible recording device in the attorney-client interview room at the Worth County jail, which they say was installed at the direction of Hobby. The arrest warrants cover acts that date back to July 13, 2017.
