Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and the Governor's Office of Workforce Development attended the Coffee County Career Academy ribbon cutting on Tuesday.
The visit was to recognize the school system for implementing the award-winning dropout prevention program.
Hundreds, including Coffee County Career Academy students, staff, faculty, and community members attended the ceremony where Governor Deal spoke.
The dropout prevention program launched in August of this year. The Star Academy program offers Coffee County High School students who are at risk of failing the opportunity to receive targeted curriculum and support in those subjects through classes at the Coffee County Career Academy.
