A local church held a gospel concert Sunday evening to help out a 16-year-old author.

Rivers of Living Water Church International invited several acts to the concert including Elvin Mallory, Cornelius Drake, Gabriel and the Rock Him Crew, and Joshua Rogers--who happens to be the season five winner of BET's 'Sunday Best'.

The concert benefitted the youth organization, Jayda Lives, named for Jayda Robinson, the 16-year-old who wrote "20 Reasons Not To Have Sex Before Marriage and Why".

"I think our youth need to learn more about abstinence. Everything from sex to drugs to risky behavior overall and that's what Jayda lives does," says organizer Dr. Lillian Rambeau.

Tickets were $10 each.
