Girls Incorporated selects new president
The Board of Trustees for Girls Incorporated in Albany has announced that Demetrius Love will be the next president of the organization.
The board says that he has demonstrated a proven track record of leadership in fundraising and marketing and a commitment to the mission of Girls Inc.
"Girls Inc. of Albany, GA, is fortunate to have the dedication and leadership that Demetrius Love brings with him in every role to which he commits," said BÃ¡rbara Rivera Holmes, immediate past president of the Girls Inc. Board of Trustees. "Demetrius' innovative fundraising and marketing skills will open new paths and strengthen older ones for Girls Inc. He has long been a supporter and ambassador of the organization, and we're looking forward to a couple of exciting years as we continue to do what we do best: Inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold."
"On the eve of Girls Inc.'s 40th year of service to Southwest Georgia, we were in need of a leader who would take the organization to the next level to ensure its viability for another 40 years," said Sherrell Alexander, Executive Director of Girls Inc. "We are happy to say with confidence that Mr. Love brings the right mix of proven leadership, experience, and acumen to the role. The Board of Trustees was unanimous in their choice."
Having served on the Board of Trustees for less than two years, Love's unique perspective and approach to fundraising and marketing quickly poised him to serve in a leadership role within the organization.
States Love, "I continue to proudly serve on the Girls Inc. Board of Trustees. I am now humbled to serve as the Board Chair. As a father of two girls, I recognize the importance and need to develop girls into women who are world class contributors. It has become my top priority to aid in the developmental process of the girls placed in our care as well as advance the organizational mission."
