There are two new ways to register to vote here in Georgia.

Secretary of State Brian Kemp announced the new technologies that will make it easier to register. One method of registering is online now through the secretary of state's website. The other way to register is through an application on iPhone and Android called GA Votes.

All that is needed is a Georgia driver's license. Lee County Elections Supervisor Veronica Johnson says you can still use the new methods but you will have to print the form out and sign it.

"We've all gotten used to doing things on our computers and we all love our smartphones so this a great app," Johnson said. "It's great because it not only lets you register to vote but once you are registered, you can access sample ballots through there so you can be aware of the elections that are coming up."

The deadline to register before the May 20th election is April 21st.
