Georgia Peanut Commission showcases new education center
TIFTON, Ga. —
People across Southwest Georgia have the chance to learn more about one of the state’s biggest crops.
Earlier today, the Georgia Peanut Commission introduced their new education center.
The building has interactive touchscreen monitors filled with peanut games and activities.
People will learn how it’s grown, harvested, the business and more.
“We look at the fact that we have few people involved with agriculture on the farm,” Don Koehler, Georgia Peanut Commission executive director, said. “It helps us to tell the story about where food comes from. We’d all be really hungry if it wasn’t for farmers.”
The education center also has hand painted murals to show how peanuts are produced in town.
