The Georgia Music Association Inc. (GMA), which is based out of Albany, is celebrating its sixth anniversary this week.
GMA was created to support artist that produce positive spiritual music as an alternative to more mainstream music.
"What I consider negative music that is influencing our children, that's influencing our younger people as well. People have the right to do what they want to do, but we have a right as a church community to produce positive and spiritual music," said CEO Georgia Music Association, Henry Thomas.
GMA is holding a musical Showcase Friday to celebrate the occasion, at the Christian Community Center at 513 Mercer Ave in Albany. It's free to attend.
