GDOT crews thaw ice on bridges in Worth County
Fri, 31 Jan 2014 15:26:26 GMT —
Georgia Department of Transportation maintenance crews are spreading a salt and rock mixture on Smoak Bridge at Lake Blackshear and on the bridge over Jones Creek near Oakfield to melt and break up ice. The bridges are on the Georgia-Florida Parkway in Worth County.
Cold temperatures and a misty rain continue to create the possibility of ice forming on bridges. The Department reminds motorists to slow down and stay at least 100 feet behind GDOT trucks that are spreading the salt/rock mixture. Never pass a GDOT, contractor or local government truck treating the road.
