      Gang vandalizes local park

A gang targeted a local park over the weekend by spray painting two of the buildings and a dugout

The Albany Police Department's Gang Unit is investigating the vandalism of a local park that happened sometime over the weekend.

Park President Kennedy Miller came back from a trip Sunday morning and found someone had spray painted two of the buildings and a dugout at the Ernie Jones Memorial Youth Sports Complex on Gillespie Avenue.

Kennedy says it's frustrating to see someone vandalize a park that tries to keep kids off the street.

"We're trying as hard as we can to get kids into the sports and every time we turn around, something like this happens and it just runs everybody away from the park.

Kennedy says this isn't the first time this has happened but he won't let it stop his efforts behind the park.
