The Dougherty County Library Board met this evening hoping to finalize a furniture company to fill the newly renovated downtown library.
That wouldn't come easy however, as board members discussed in length their options, and even the possibility of sending the job out for bids among new companies.
Members then voted on whether or not to start from scratch, ultimately deciding that moving forward and opening the doors was their biggest priority.
"If we went through the bidding process, you're talking about delaying placing and even buying the order for another 45 to 60 days. And that would put us at almost December, and we want to be into the building by January or February," said Library Board Chairman, Walter Kelley.
The motion was voted down 4 to 2, and officials believe an early 2014 opening is now realistic.
