Furloughed workers at the Marine Corps Logistics Base are raising awareness by hosting a bike ride.
It's called the Furlough Awareness Ride.
The ride started in Leesburg at the County Courthouse, and went through Albany, Sylvester and wrapped up at Tifton Harley Davidson.
Last Monday, more than 800,000 Department of Navy/Marines were furloughed losing 20% of their salaries.
Bike riders include active duty, reserve, retired, or active Government employees.
Organizer Nikk Nicholson says, "we want the public to know how much this furlough affects our lives, and we hope we can make a difference."
