State Representative Carol Fullerton (D- Albany) is pleased with the inclusion of $1.4 million in funding for the new Fine Arts Center at Albany State University.
Members of the Georgia General Assembly voted and passed House Bill 744 on Monday, February 17, 2014. This bill covers general appropriations for the state fiscal year July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
Rep. Fullerton had been lobbying for these funds for Albany State University for several years. She ensured this subject matter was a priority and through working with leadership at the Capitol, she was able to help secure funds for the university.
"This is an exciting opportunity for both the Fine Arts Program and Albany State University. This substantial investment on the part of the Georgia General Assembly signifies our state's ongoing commitment to fine arts and the important role they play in higher education," said Rep. Fullerton.
