Former Phoebe patient to appear on "700 Club"
Officials with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital announced via press release that a reenactment of a Ben Hill County plane crash is being featured on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club" on Tuesday, March 26.
They add that the segment, filmed primarily on location in South Georgia during February, includes footage at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, as well as at the scene of the crash near Fitzgerald.
The program is about Joe Townsend who received life-saving care at Phoebe after surviving a 1996 plane crash that took the lives of his wife and two daughters. In 2011, Townsend released a book about the tragedy called "Soul Survivor." Now his story of survival and determination has been documented for a national television profile.
