Former Albany resident dies after gunman opens fire in Seattle coffee shop

Seattle shooting victim, Kimberly Layfield, celebrates her grandmother's 103rd birthday last Sunday in Albany

According to the Seattle Times, former Albany resident Kimberly Layfield died in after a man opened fire in a Seattle coffee shop.

Layfield attended the now closed Riverview Academy in the early 1990's.

The Associated Press reports that a man walked into an arts cafe near a Seattle university and opened fire, fatally wounding four people. Police say he later killed a woman during a carjacking before fatally shooting himself.
