Friday the Terrell County Board of Commissioners and Chamber of Commerce held a dedication for the complete reconstruction of the Terrell County Courthouse. The renovation includes new hall ways, holding cells, and two elevators.
The new additions cost two in a half million dollars, a figure which was less than expected says Chairman of the Board of Commissioners Wilburt Gamble Jr.
"We paid for it as we went and we paid for it with our own money. The only grant we had was on the clock; there's not a grant dollar in this place, every dollar is sales tax and we did it way under budget but we did it without oil labor and it took a lot longer, but we don't have a debt to pay and I'm so proud of that," said Gamble.
