In the Facebook story of the day, you wanted to know what species of fish call Southwest Georgia home.

There are hundreds of fish can be found in this region, but some of the more commons ones are large mouth, stripped and shoal bass.

Catfish can also be found but one of the most popular fish would be the sun fish

"Every grandfather who shows his grandson how to fish that's probably the first fish they're going to catch, in fact they'll probably catch a whole stringer of them," said Richard Brown, the Flint RiverQuarium Curator.

Most of these fish can be found in the wild around blue holes where the water temperature tends to be more consistent.
