First State Bank robbed

First State Bank is at the corner of Whispering Pines and North Slappey

The Albany Police Department says a slender black male wearing black clothes robbed First State Bank at the corner of Whispering Pines Road and Slappey Boulevard.

Steve Butler with the APD says the man gave a teller a note asking for an undisclosed amount of money and the teller gave him the money. Police say he fled on foot heading west down Whispering Pines.

No one was hurt in the robbery, however if you have any additional information you're asked to call the Albany Police Department.

The FBI is involved with the case because it is a federal crime.
