      First Sorority house to be built in Albany

      The members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated , Delta Eta Omega Chapter, Incorporated will break ground on a new 5800 square foot sorority house on Monday, June 23 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at 606 North Jackson Street, Albany.

      The building will house meeting rooms, offices, kitchen, conference rooms and a file room.

      Delta Eta Omega Chapter, Inc. will be the first sorority in the City of Albany to build a sorority house. The majority of the projects that are sponsored by the chapter will be housed in the building.

      Debra Capers says that the Sorority offers many programs for people of all ages and this house is important because AKA will be able to "continue the philosophy that they were founded on, the service to all mankind."
