Trials resumed this week for two men in a major gang case. Jermaine Stevens and Courtney Hicks are the first two to be prosecuted after 32 people were arrested in roundup of the Crips gang in Albany.
The two face a list of charges including gang participation, drug possession and firearm possession. Some charges are for activity the two may not have directly been involved with.
"You're going to be responsible for what every other gang member does and that's what being prosecuted for gang participation means -- that you may be responsible for what some other gang member does in furtherance of the gang," said Dougherty County District Attorney Greg Edwards
Edwards say authorities are actively working to build cases against as many as four other gangs in Dougherty County.
