Firefighters use jaws of life to save woman in Slappey Boulevard wreck

Tue, 21 Aug 2012 20:31:09 GMT — Two cars were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Slappey Boulevard and Whispering Pines Road.Albany police say that a 2000 Ford Expedition driven by Amy Collier was traveling north bound on Slappey Boulevard attempting to make a left turn, westbound onto Whispering Pines. A 2002 Chevrolet S10 driven by Natoria Smith had a green light but the turning light for Collier had expired. Collier proceeded to make the turn and struck Smith. The Albany Fire Department used the jaws of life to rescue a person out of the crashed vehicles.Collier was cited with failure to yield while making a left turn.
