Firefighters stay cool in the heat

Local Tifton girl looks to give firefighters some relief in the summer heat.

One Tifton girl is looking to help our local firefighters stay cool and hydrated in the heat of summer.

20-year-old Nicole Taylor will be heading up a "water and Gatorade drive" for local firefighters in hopes of combating heat exhaustion in the Southwest Georgia sun.

This is the third year Taylor has headed up the drive, which she says started after her father, a local volunteer firefighter, said they ran out hydrating supplies on the scene of a fire.

If you would like to donate to Taylor's drive you can contact her at, (229) 326-0691, and she will come and pick them up for your convenience.
