The Albany Fire Department responded to a call Monday night regarding a possible trash can fire on Hilltop Drive.Chief Allen Cravey with AFD said when they responded they didn TMt find the fire but a man approached them and then almost immediately fled the scene.Cravey said as the man was fleeing the scene, firefighters noticed smoke coming from an apartment. This apartment belongs to the man who fled the scene, later identified as Jeremiah Spence.Officials say they called in the Albany Police Department who later apprehended Spence and took him into custody.Spence TMs apartment sustained minor damage, with most of it to the couch and the walls beside it.
