The Leesburg Fire Department responded to the Stardust 2 Full Service Car Wash around 4:50 a.m. Tuesday morning after they received a call that the roof was on fire.

Fire officials say they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the upper right-hand corner of the ceiling. Firemen controlled the fire by 5:15 a.m. but the damage was already done.

Owner Craig Dodge says various wires were melted during the fire, rendering his business useless until it's fixed.

"I don't know what my employees are going to do, I don't know how long we're going to be down. It's a terrible feeling but we'll get through it, we'll be back," said Dodge.

Dodge is waiting for an insurance estimate on the damages and says his ten employees are now out of work until he can get the carwash back up and running, which he hopes to do as soon as possible.

LFD believes an electrical shortage in the neon lighting on the outside of the building caused the fire.
