The finance committee of the Dougherty County School Board met this morning to discuss next years budget.
The budget right now is near $122 million which Ken Dyers, the finance director, says is a little higher than what they expected.
Dyer says they have to pull about $3 million from reserves but luckily their reserve fund is pretty healthy and won't suffer too much.
Dyer said one of the big reasons the budget is so high is because they are now having to pay for Albany Early College out of their general fund whereas before they thought it was state funded.
The board is expected to vote on the budget at their meeting on Wednesday.
