AAA is reporting that oil production was halted on Friday as Tropical Storm Isaac gets closer affecting gas prices.
The average national unleaded gasoline price is $3.75 - Georgia's average isn't far behind at $3.70.
The state average was six cents less only a week ago and local drivers say they're feeling the change.
"It kind of takes away from your food and everything else," said John Smith.
"What's strange about it is when they rise, they rise very quickly. However, they go down very slowly so it's very hard for the working-class family," said Solomon Loud Jr.
Essence Fritts agreed it affects the average driver.
"You can't travel how you want to travel, you can't move where you want to move, you always have to go get gas and gas is too high for the economy," said Fritts.
No matter how it affects them, drivers all agree on one thing: they want to see prices come back down.
