Hundreds from the Moody Air Force Base are now on their way to southwest Asia.

Three hundred Airmen deployed overseas Friday afternoon. They will organize, train and equip "Flying Tigers" to rapidly deploy.

They will also execute core functions to meet combatant commander requirements.

The group consists of airmen from the 75th Fighter Squadron, 41st Rescue Squadron and maintenance personnel.

The 75th FS is part of the 23d Fighter Group which directs the flying operations for the USAF's largest A-10C fighter group. It is one of two combat-ready A-10C squadrons located at Moody.
