FERC says Sabal Pipleine project wont have significant impact on the environment
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has concluded that construction and operation of the Sabal Pipeline would not result in a significant impact on the environment.
FERC in their Final Environmental Impact Statement on Friday said the Sabal Pipeline Project would temporarily and permanently impact the environment.
But it said the project won't have a significant impact because the company would be taking steps during construction and operation of its facilities to reduce the impact on the environment.
Residents of Albany and some its law makers oppose the pipeline coming to the area.
The FERC statement also said all of the proposed facilities would be constructed and operated in compliance with federal standards and requirements.
