FEMA experts are in Albany’s Lowes Home Improvement store giving advice to help survivors build a better and stronger home.

The information being given is for a general contractor or for people to be able to do the project themselves.

“This may be a time for people to consider purchasing a storm shelter,” said John Mills, FEMA Spokesperson. This may be a time if you live near a creek or a river, to consider elevating your heating and cooling systems. You need to elevate your air conditioner unit off the ground.”

FEMA will be at Lowes from February 16-21. The hours are Thursday-Friday 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday-Sunday 8 a.m. -1 p.m., Monday 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Tuesday 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
