FEMA asks Dougherty County, GDOT to sign agreement
Dougherty County is looking to sign an agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation concerning storm recovery.
Jeremy Brown of Public Works said the agreement is essentially something the county and GDOT already do, but FEMA has now asked them to put it in writing to make it official when dealing with storm reimbursements.
“During a disaster declared emergency by the governor, that the county can help DOT or DOT can help us, and then anything that’s not reimbursable by FEMA can be billed to the receivee,” he said.
Brown said this agreement would still be applicable to the Jan. 22 storm. Dougherty County commissioners will vote on it next week.
