Thanks to a federal grant, a homeless shelter in Albany will soon get a makeover.

The city's state lobbyist alerted the city to a grant offered by Benjamin Moore to repaint the interior of a homeless shelter.

Assistant City Manager Wes Smith says he's glad they city will have more in the general fund to work with.

"We would have had to do this in one form or fashion anyway, so either the general fund or community development dollars will go farther than they would have," says Smith.

Only one shelter was picked per state.

A crew from Benjamin Moore is expected to paint it by Thanksgiving.
