The FBI is working with the Berrien County Sheriff's Office and Alapaha City Police Department to located two men suspected in an armed bank robbery.
Friday around 10:00 a.m. two black men dressed in black military type uniforms entered the Bank of Alapaha with handguns.
After announcing the robbery, the men forced bank employees to leave their offices and lay down on the floor.
One of the thieves jumped over the teller counter with a handgun and an explosive device that was later determined to be a fake.
After taking money, the men left the bank and got away in a white four-door sedan.
The car was found burned beyond recognition about 3.5 miles away.
It is believed that two other vehicles, one described as being an older model green Ford Explorer and the other a burgundy Cadillac Escalade-type SUV, were used to escape the area after torching the original getaway vehicle.
The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about the bank robber or the suspects is asked to contact the FBI's Valdosta Resident Agency at (229) 247-2292.
