Sgt. Curry with the Dougherty County Police Department confirms with FOX 31 that the driver of the green Ford F150, Scott Dent Jr., has passed away due to internal injuries suffered in the accident.
Melissa Burger, a passenger in the Dodge SUV, was also killed in this morning's accident. The driver, Bobby Phillips, was treated for non-lifethreatening injuries.
Lt. M.J. Wood says that the driver of the Ford was headed south on Stagecoach Road when it ran the stop sign and t-boned the grey Dodge Ram on the passenger side.
Before coming to a rest, the Ram also hit a utility pole and a fire hydrant.
Lt. Wood adds that it's a residential area and if the speed limit is 45, drivers should drive slower and be aware of the surroundings.
Dougherty County Police, the Albany Fire Department and EMS are on scene at the intersection of Nelms Road and Stagecoach Road where two trucks collided Saturday morning.
Witnesses say the driver of the green Ford F-150 ran a stop sign and collided with a grey Dodge Ram with two people inside.
The driver of the F-150 and the Ram were taken to Phoebe for treatment.
A female passenger in the Ram was killed.
