The Southwest Georgia Project, Inc. is hosting a Farmer's Field Day at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture in Tifton.
The event gives seasoned and future agriculture producers a chance to learn about agriculture innovation, value added production, agriculture business and sustainability.
Children from all over the Southwest Georgia region had turned out to participate in the event. A group of kids from the Positive Direction Community Center in Terrell County made the trip along with administrators from they center.
The students learned about calories and the differences between fruits and vegetables.
While children enjoyed the field day outside of the museum, inside female agricultural leaders participated in the first annual Women in Ag Luncheon.
Both events are a first for the museum but officials say they plan to make it an annual event.
