Facebook post threatening primary school leads to arrest

Phillips faces charges of terroristic threats and acts as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. / Sylvester Police Department


Officials with the Sylvester Police Department say they have arrested a man after a threat was posted on Facebook at the school.

Police officials say that on October 11, their department was contacted by the Worth County School System in regards to a message posted by George Everett Phillips Jr. after being upset about the way his child was being dealt with at the school.

On the morning of October 15, Sylvester police and deputies from the Worth County Sheriff's Office conducted a search warrant at the residence of Phillips.

Officials say that Phillips was taken into custody without incident and evidence was taken from the residence along with a small quantity of guns.

Phillips faces charges of terroristic threats and acts as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
