Exchange Club Fair opens its gates to a crowd

Activities include pizza eating contests and the 15th annual Demolition Derby

Ferris Wheels, funnel cakes and farm animals â" just a few of the things you'll find at this year's Exchange Club Fair.

The fair held its opening ceremony Tuesday afternoon to kick of their 64th fair. Activities include pizza eating contests and the 15th annual Demolition Derby. 30 riders are already signed up for the derby. Free musical entertainment will be available in the later hours.

The Exchange Club Fair will run through Sunday, and organizers say it's great fun for all ages.

"The fair brings back a lot of memories to a lot of people. As you're growing up, the fair has a lot of experiences up there with the rides and the food and family entertainment. This is family entertainment. Every year everybody that walks through the front is really a kid at heart," says Fair Manager Skip Nichols.

Admission is $5. For a $15 "All You Can Ride" pass, visit a participating Harvey's or McDonald's. The Exchange Club Fair will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m until 11 p.m., Friday from 3 p.m. until midnight, Saturday from noon until midnight and Sunday from 1 p.m. until midnight.

For a detailed scheduled of events, visit the Exchange Club Fair website.

The Exchange Club Fair is located at 810 S. Westover at W. Oakridge.
