Emergency resources headed to Albany
If you need help after Monday’s storm, you might be able to get some soon.
A POD, or point of distribution, will open in Albany on Wednesday.
The federal resource will provide immediate and emergency needs for people in the area.
“We’ll be able to provide water, tarps, blankets, emergency meals, things of that nature that are normally not readily available right after a storm,” Dougherty County EMA Director Ron Rowe said.
The POD will open Wednesday at 8 a.m. in the parking lot behind the Civic Center.
It will have a drive-through line, so Rowe said they’re asking everyone to be patient.
He said it might be open in Albany for as long as a week, or until supplies run out or the need is met.
