An elderly man is down about $400 after being robbed by who he believes were two women overnight inside his Albany home.
74-year-old Andrew Belk was home early Wednesday morning just before 3 a.m. when he says at least two "large women" forced themselves into his home on Southwood Drive in South Albany and forced him to the floor before stealing $400 he had stashed away in his socks. The suspects threw a blanket over him and then stole the money so Belk couldn't get a good physical description.
Belk wouldn't go on camera to talk about it but Belk's neighbor, Geneva Hill, says she can't believe it happened so close.
"You're kidding," Hill said. "I didn't know all that. I just thought someone came in unexpectedly. They should've known because that red truck was home. I just think it's got to be someone that knew him or something like that."
This case is being turned over to the Albany Police Department's Criminal Investigations Bureau.
