Long time commissioner, Muarlean Edwards, attended the first meeting of the Dougherty County Board of Commissioners for 2013, but this time as a spectator.

The commission officially swore in newly appointed District 3 commissioner, Clinton Johnson on Monday, taking the place of Edwards on the commission.

Edwards spoke to her colleagues and the community stating what a privilege it was to serve with the other members of the commission, and went on to say that Johnson will be an asset and a great addition to the commission.

However, Edwards won't be slowing down anytime soon. She says she has bigger and better ideas in mind to better the Albany/Dougherty community. For now, she's looking forward to spending time with her family, and enjoying some much needed time off.
