      Drunk drivers not tolerated on holiday highways

      As the Fourth of July approaches, drivers are warned to not allow drinking create an accident or arrest that could ruin their holiday fun. / Jessica Fairley

      On behalf of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, the Department of Natural Resources, Albany Police Department, and Georgia State Patrol is warning drivers to be aware that Operation Zero Tolerance is in effect. Anyone caught driving or boating under the influence will be taken to jail.

      So far, 86 people have been arrested this summer throughout the state for Boating Under the Influence (BUI).

      Officials say drinking affects ones ability to properly drive a boat or a car.
