Drug Unit and Dougherty County Police make arrest after foot chase
The Dougherty County Police Department and Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit make an arrest after a chase in Albany.
Officers with the Dougherty County Police Department say that months ago, the department obtained arrest warrants on Sederrick Culbreth for multiple charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Sgt. Chad Kirkpatrick with the Dougherty County Police Department announced that Culbreth was arrested Monday afternoon in the area of Cleveland Avenue and 2nd Avenue in Albany.
Kirkpatrick added that a DCP detective spotted Sederrick Culbreth sitting in a vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of the Good Will on North Slappey Boulevard and once the driver saw the detective, the vehicle quickly left the area. The detective followed the vehicle and the vehicle eventually stopped in the area of 5th Avenue and Harding Street. Culbreth quickly exited the vehicle and fled the area on foot. The vehicle also fled the area. Moments later, Culbreth was located in the area of Cleveland Avenue and 2nd Avenue by members of the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit and was taken into custody by Dougherty County Police.
