One month ago the search committee for Dougherty County's new library director was narrowed down to six candidates, but since then officials say three to four of those have dropped out causing them to look over more possible candidates.

The committee met Tuesday afternoon to review more applicants who could be added to the other finalists for the job.

Committee Chair Dr. James L. Hill says they're not required to bring the number of finalists back up to six but they need to make sure there are no applicants they've missed reviewing.

The committee has interviewed one finalist so far and hopes to have all others completed by June 1st so they can make a recommendation for hire to the full library board sometime in June.
