Drone detection system pays off at Autry State Prison
A new drone detection system is paying off at Autry State Prison.
Officials with Georgia Department of Corrections say the system alerted jail officers to a suspected drone.
While officers did not see the drone, they did find the cargo it dropped off: two packages of marijuana.
“As we continue to remain diligent at preventing contraband from entering our facilities, technological devices like the DroneTracker assist us in our efforts,” said GDOC Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier. “Even though contraband drops are becoming more and more creative, the dedication of our officers has remained steadfast in their fight to against contraband."
